About

We are a small family farm located near Avoca, Iowa.  Our goal is to provide produce, honey, eggs, baked goods, and jam for our family.  We also sell these products from our homestead and at our local farmer’s market in Harlan, Iowa.  Beef and chicken are are available by ordering ahead of time in the spring. Our small farm started from just our regular garden.  After realizing that we always had more produce than we needed, we decided to start selling our goods at our local farmer’s market.  Lori is a teacher, so she is home during the summer.  This was a good fit for our family because her summer job was now at home and she could get the kids where they needed to be.  As time went on, our garden grew bigger, more trees were added to the orchard, the strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry patches expanded, bees were added for pollination, and more animals were added to the homestead.  We have created this website to provide information about our farm, gardening tips, and homestead education.
